The type of Japan Rail Pass you choose will depend on the length of your visit and the places that you would like to go to. It will also depend on your style of comfort you wish to travel in.
The Different Types of Rail Passes
The pass is only valid for consecutive days after the start date so you need to make sure that you match that to your schedule. There are three passes available: 7-day, 14-day and 21-day passes which you can select economy or green class options.
Which Pass Is Best For Me
The 7-day Japan Rail Pass:
This is ideal if you are staying for the week and want to move around a lot. You can use Kyoto or Tokyo as the base and arrange your day trips around there – Kyoto is great if you want to go to Miyajima or Nara for the day.
The 14-day Japan Rail Pass:
If you are staying for 10 days or more, the 14-day pass is excellent. You can alternate relaxing and trip days with this.
The 21-day Japan Rail Pass:
When staying in the country for more than two weeks, the 21-day pass is more economical. You will be able to go around the country in your own time and add in many rest dates.
Economy Class:
Generally many of our customers find the economy class to be great compared to the quality of trains in Australia.
Green Class:
With larger seats, more leg space and extra added benefits. The green class offers customers more peace for mind on their travels.
